The CL has now been fitted with a set of new, smaller 2 1/2 inch gauges. Each gauge face is lit by LED lights with 7 changeable colors, because nothing says tough cafe racer like something fancy. While they are currently resting in a diamond plate bracket, I think we’ll be swapping that out for something a little different. I’m still trying to zero in on what I want to do. For now though, I think it’s lookin’ pretty good.

Wow, those are awesome! Our CL175 has the original gauges and they visually look okay, but it’s still unknown if they work. These gauges might make a good alternative to NOS if we end up needing new ones.
Can you post some details about where you got them? And maybe the price?
I’ve got a few sets of gauges too, all in various levels of condition. I saw these on eBay after a friend told me about them. They are small, well lit, and the assorted LED colors are a novelty and not sure if I will ever change them
The mounting as you can see is temporary until I can fab up something final – likely something in a figure-8 shape that the gauges mount “in to” instead of “on”. The tach is a coil connected tach, so you’ll have to cover the existing tach cable off the engine – I was thinking of fabbing up a small propeller that’ll spin as I go
Forward Powersports sells them, and they are a bit pricey at 69 bucks. They can be found here: http://stores.ebay.com/forwardpowersports . I’ve seen them on sale on other sites and on ebay on occasion for 40-50 bucks, but of course never when I need to buy them
HTH
As much as I’d love to own one, I can’t see myself committing just yet… unless of course… it looked like yours!
Congrats on the project, I love it!
Soth! Join us! You can do it
