After landing in Milan, we stopped in to Rent a Dream (http://www.rentadream.it) where we picked up 2 f650GS’. BTW, I highly recommend them – it’s a FANTASTIC shop with very well-cared-for bikes and a true “rider” at the helm who really seems to love what he does.
We were pretty tired after the overnight flight, and decided our first day would be a quick hop up to Lake Como to do a little siteseeing and zombie walking around the lake.
Translated: We hopped on a siteseeing boat and proceeded to fall asleep for most of the ride
I will say this – few things are as sweet as a nighttime walk with your sweetheart along the lake sharing a gelato. Oh, and a McD’s cheeseburger because we didn’t decide to eat until most places were closing up. What can I say, I’m a big spender.
The next morning, we headed up to Bellagio to grab the ferry to Verrena – and then to Bormio to meet up with Pimmie who was coming down from Holland.
A calm lake helped make the ferry ride spectacular, and gave us a nice view of the ghetto by the lakeside
We crossed over Livigno and got our first taste of what Alpine Passes were like
We made our way to Bormio, found our hotel and dined on home-made sandwiches under beautiful afternoon sun while we waited for Pimmie to arrive

Hello Crudmop
I just read your post about your trip “Running the passes of the Alps” and we are planning the same trip to the Alps. Right now I am in contact with Diego from Rentadream in Milan. We are booking 3 bikes (BMW). What are your references about Rentadrem ? Are they OK and services are good ?
I appreciate your reply to my email. Any advice about the trip will be wonderfull.
Thanks
